Fr. Petros Mwale is seeking funds to construct a simple church building for the newly formed parish of St. Martin de Porres as masses are currently held outside on a makeshift altar in the shade. A church building can be constructed for a relatively modest sum by western standards and would greatly enhance the worship experience for the many thousands of parishioners of St. Martins and facilitate its evangelization efforts in rural Malawi. Fr. Mwale also seeks help in the construction of modest parish outstation buildings and funds for catechists to purchase materials used in their catechesis programming. With your support, St. Martins can build and grow as an institution to meet the pastoral and physical needs of its rural parishioners.
Fr. Edmond Nyoka is seeking funds to expand the chapel, add classrooms and provide additional housing at St. Patrick’s Seminary as their current facility is both in disrepair and is too small for the demands of the 145 students who are currently enrolled. The need for priests is great in Malawi with its growing Catholic population and happily so are those interested in pursuing the priesthood. That formation in the faith begins at St. Patrick’s where the young men are educated and trained in the faith. Fr. Nyoka also seeks funds to pay the school fees for many of these young men whose families cannot afford the modest cost of their education. With your support, St. Patricks will be able to enroll more students to lead them on a pathway toward the priesthood and help meet the spiritual needs of Malawi’s growing Catholic community.
